Today, May 24, 2016 occurred the round table organized within The ENPI CBC Project ALECTOR “Collaborative Networks of Multilevel Actors to advance Quality Standards for Heritage Tourism at Cross Border Level”. Cross Border program is dedicated to develop and promote heritage tourism standarts in Black Sea Basin.

The  ALECTOR  Cross  Border  Partnership is composed by 12 Partners in 7 countries: Greece (2), Romania (1),. Bulgaria (1), Moldova (1), Ukraine, Georgia, and Turkey. The  CB  Partnership  equally represents: the public sector (5) private sector (3) the academic and research (3) the third sector (3). The synthesis of a multilevel and multi-sectoral Partnership dedicated to produce of CB synergies and thus contribute to socioeconomic development of the Black Sea Area.

Svetlana Lazar, President of ANTREC Moldova, Coordinator “ALECTOR” for Moldova mentioned that “The purpose of today’s meeting was not just to promote and present the project itself but also to strengthen the efforts of all associated ALECTOR partners in Republic of Moldova for development and promotion of cultural tourism and its harmonization to European requirements”.

The event was attended by experts from the tourism sector, representatives of local and central public administrations, museums, educational and cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations and media representatives.

The new cultural tourist trail was highly appreciated by each of those present, and Mr. Victor Ciobanu, Head of Tourism Development and Marketing Policy Directorate, came up with the proposal to include the "Tree of Life" route in the list of national routes supported by the National Tourism Authority. Tour operators came up with the idea to make this route as a common trail for promotion of Moldova’s tourism potential at specialized exhibitions from abroad.

Tourist route "Tree of Life" is a cognitive adventure entitled "SPIRITUAL TREASURES HUNT".

In this regard, National Association of Rural, Ecological and Cultural Tourism in Moldova together with associated partners aims to support the promotion of quality standards in heritage tourism using heritage assets as a binder for development and socio-economic cohesion of the community.
